The Croods is a 2013 American computer-animated comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and directed by Kirk DeMicco and Chris Sanders. Set in a fictional prehistoric world, the film follows the Croods, a family of cave-dwellers led by their protective father, Grug. For generations, Grug has kept his family safe by following strict rules and avoiding anything new or dangerous. However, their way of life is suddenly disrupted when an earthquake destroys their cave, forcing them to leave their home and explore the unfamiliar world outside. During their journey, they meet Guy, an intelligent and inventive young man who warns them about an approaching catastrophe.
