A small-time jewel thief named Calvin Simms is hired to steal a priceless diamond. When the getaway goes wrong, Calvin hides the stolen gem inside the handbag of Vanessa Edwards, hoping to return for it later. But he soon discovers that getting the diamond back will be much harder than expected.

Vanessa's husband, Darryl, desperately wants to become a father. Seeing an opportunity, Calvin disguises himself as an abandoned baby and is left on the couple's doorstep. Darryl immediately welcomes him into the family, while Vanessa remains suspicious about the strange child who has suddenly appeared in their lives.

Calvin's plan is simple: stay with the couple, find the diamond, and disappear. Instead, he becomes caught up in family life, embarrassing situations, birthday celebrations, and Darryl's enthusiastic attempts at fatherhood. Meanwhile, Calvin's criminal partners are under increasing pressure to recover the missing diamond.

As the criminals close in and Calvin's secret becomes harder to protect, the ridiculous scheme turns into a chaotic battle involving the diamond, dangerous mobsters, and an unsuspecting family. What began as a simple robbery unexpectedly forces Calvin to discover something he never expected to want—a real family.
