कल ही मैंने आपको व्हाट्सऐप हैकिंग से बचने के बारे में बताया था ये क्यों ज़रूरी है इसका एक एग्ज़ांपल आज ही सामने आया सिनेमा chain कंपनी Inox के एक एग्ज़ीक्यूटिव से व्हाट्सऐप के ज़रिए 10 करोड़ चालीस लाख रुपए की ठगी कर ली गई असल में, 3 जून को मुंबई में Inox के डिप्टी जनरल मैनेजर गिरीश अमीन के पास, एक व्हाट्सऐप मैसेज आया मैसेज भेजने वाले ने दावा किया कि वो Inox का एग्ज़ीक्यूटिव डायरेक्टर सिद्धार्थ जैन है ठग ने गिरीश से ये नंबर save करने के लिए कहा और कहा कि वो मीटिंग में जा रहे हैं उनको कॉल न किया जाए इसके बाद, ठग ने उसी व्हाट्सऐप नंबर से अलग अलग account number भेजकर पैसे ट्रांसफर करने का आदेश दिया चूंकि, ठग ने नंबर पर सिद्धार्थ जैन की फोटो लगा रखी थी इसलिए, गिरीश जैन को शक नहीं हुआ और उन्होंने पैसे ट्रांसफर कर दिए.

Just yesterday, I spoke to you about how to protect yourself from WhatsApp hacking; today, an incident has come to light that illustrates exactly why this is so important. An executive from the cinema chain company Inox was defrauded of ₹10.4 crore via WhatsApp. On June 3, Girish Amin, the Deputy General Manager at Inox in Mumbai, received a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be Siddharth Jain, an Executive Director at the company. The fraudster asked Girish to save the number and instructed him not to call, stating that he was heading into a meeting. Subsequently, the fraudster used that same WhatsApp number to send various account details and order money transfers. Since the fraudster had set Siddharth Jain’s photo as the profile picture, Girish did not suspect anything amiss and proceeded to transfer the funds.
