Our latest documentary explores the story of Kharkiv: from its historical roots and the impact of the Revolution of Dignity (Euromaidan) to the full-scale Russian invasion and the everyday reality of life during the war.

We went to Kharkiv to find out why this city is exceptional. Through the stories of Kharkivites, we examined how the city has endured repeated attacks while continuing to function, create, and resist Russian occupation. Our documentary looks at the role of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the defence of Kharkiv Oblast, the distinct identity, culture and language of Kharkiv residents, the influence of writers such as Serhiy Zhadan, and the political and military decisions that have shaped the conflict and the city.

"Kharkiv. A Chronicle of Survival" is not just a story of war and resilience, but also an in-depth look at the cultural, linguistic and political processes taking place just a few dozen kilometres from the Russian border.
