Before television made them household rerun legends, Abbott and Costello were packing radio broadcasts with rapid-fire wordplay, vaudeville timing, running gags, guest stars, musical numbers, and Lou’s glorious ability to misunderstand absolutely everything at full speed.

Their radio career included a 1940 summer series and a major weekly run from 1942 through 1949, first on NBC and later on ABC. Their classic routines, including the legendary “Who’s on First?”, helped define American comedy timing for generations.
