After two weeks of posting clips from this performance across social media, the response has been incredible.

So here it is.

This is my full headline performance from Artistry Comedy Sundays, one of Johannesburg's premier comedy nights, hosted and run by comedy heavyweights Mpho Popps and Thabiso Mhlongo.

In this set, I dive into what it's like navigating South Africa as a coloured guy. From coloured stereotypes and identity, to relationships, being a coloured guy alone, social trust, recognition, and the strange ways society treats you depending on whether you're standing next to a partner or standing alone.

I also share some absolutely ridiculous stories of the tale of Troy, explore why coloured guys never believe in taking one loss and always want a rematch, and unpack one of South Africa's most fascinating modern phenomena: Wanya Tsotsi.

If you've spent any time on South African TikTok, you've probably come across videos of Wanya Tsotsi doing what they do best: finding criminals, humbling criminals, filming criminals, educating criminals, and occasionally becoming more entertaining than the police themselves.

Some viewers have challenged certain factual elements of the joke based on additional context and information surrounding the group. Fair enough.

Comedy often starts with an observation, but learning never stops. Since posting clips from this set, I've learned more about the story and the people involved, and I'll be uploading an updated version of that joke in my next video.

That said, this performance captures the joke exactly as it was performed live on the night.
