Tucker and Dale vs. Evil REACTION | First Time Watching | Syntell & Rekkai (Krimson Kommentary)

Syntell and Rekkai react to Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010) — both watching for the first time. The premise: Tucker and Dale are two well-meaning hillbillies on vacation at their fixer-upper cabin in the woods. A group of college kids decides — incorrectly — that they are serial killers. What follows is less a horror movie and more a sustained demonstration of what happens when people stop communicating and start sprinting toward power tools.

Alan Tudyk as Tucker and Tyler Labine as Dale carry every frame. These are two guys who just want to fix up a cabin, maybe fish a little, maybe Dale gets to talk to a girl for once in his life. The girl being Allison — the one college kid willing to find out what's actually going on before doing something drastic. Meanwhile Chad is out there with a whole separate agenda that gets more complicated the longer the movie runs.

Post-reaction: Rekkai came in apprehensive — "I don't do horror." He leaves calling it gory comedy, not horror, and the difference matters. The Discord clocks it immediately as Army of Darkness energy. The wood chipper kill is the laugh of the week, no contest. Both hosts land on Alan Tudyk as one of the most underrated actors working — and Tucker and Dale makes that case in 90 minutes flat.
