A young frontier scout guides a massive wagon train from the Mississippi toward Oregon, but the land is not the only danger waiting ahead. While families struggle through rivers, cliffs, storms, buffalo, and hostile country, two men inside the train carry a secret tied to a murdered trapper. This is a wagon-train Western about endurance, revenge, and the brutal price of pushing west. The film was directed by Raoul Walsh, built around an Oregon Trail migration, and shot in early 70mm Fox Grandeur widescreen for epic frontier scale.
