Synopsis: The Chinese fantasy action film "The Taoist Master" tells the story of Zhang Daoling (Acted by Louis Fan), the Tianshi of Longhu Mountain, who, after receiving a letter for help from his friend, Mr. Wen, travels to Bashu with his disciple, Wang Chang. They discover that his friend has mysteriously died, and his disciple, Wang Chang, has been poisoned by a Gu in the ghost realm. Desperate to save Wang Chang, Zhang Daoling becomes embroiled in a local mountain ghost killing incident. His attempts to uncover the truth behind the incident, while simultaneously saving his disciple and the innocent locals, bring him to his own demise. He is also falsely accused of being a mountain ghost. Remaining true to himself, he refuses to be deceived by external influences and ultimately uncovers the truth behind the mountain ghost killings, preventing a local evil organization from persecuting the people through diabolical rituals. He resolves his own long-held grievances and helps educate the local people.
