Tamil Nadu Govt Allocates Portfolios: CM Vijay Retains Home Ministry | TVK | Politics | Vijay News

The Tamil Nadu government has announced its cabinet portfolio allocations. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has retained the Women and Children Welfare portfolio, along with the Home and Police Departments, to ensure direct oversight of women's safety and security. In a significant move, the youngest cabinet member, a twenty-nine-year-old woman, has been allocated the Industries Ministry, a portfolio traditionally held by men. A senior party leader has been appointed as the Finance Minister to manage the state's debt, which is close to eleven lakh crore rupees. Additionally, a retired IRS officer has been given the Health Department, while the School Education Department has been assigned to a Dalit minister for the first time. The Public Works Department and Sports Ministry have been allocated to a former basketball player. The Rural Development and Law ministries have also been assigned to key leaders. Meanwhile, the Congress party has demanded two cabinet berths, and the final decision on their allocation is pending.
