My Wife's Lodger - A soldier comes home from the war expecting a warm welcome, but he finds that his wife had taken in a lodger during his absence, and now she and his somewhat dingy daughter seem to be paying much more attention to the lodger than to him.

Synopsis:
My Wife’s Lodger finds hapless soldier Willie Higginbottom (Dominic Roche) hoping for a hero’s welcome when he returns home after the war. But, while he was away, shifty spiv Roger the Lodger (Leslie Dwyer) got his arms around his wife and his feet under the table, and now Willie’s ditzy daughter (Diana Dors) only wants to sing, dance and jitterbug!

Reviews:
A testament to how some good stage actors can make a basic story work by playing off each other and drawing in the audience. And for being from the 50s, the banter is surprisingly fresh and snappy. I laughed quite a bit. It grabbed my eye on Tubi becasue the title had my mind right away in the gutter, but this is actually a straight up comedy, only sleaze to be found in some of the cleverly written jokes.
