Hiya!

In today’s video I’m taking you through a little Romanian cultural buffet : books, films, and one music artist I absolutely refuse to gatekeep. Think of this as a soft introduction to the stories that shaped a lot of us: a mix of psychological spirals, war-era drama, melancholy poetry, childhood nostalgia, folklore, and the occasional character who makes you question their life choices… or your own.

I’m giving you short, spoiler-light summaries, a bit of context, what each piece feels like, and whether you can even find an English translation (because Romania loves making that difficult). We’ll also talk about a 1970s freckled boy who somehow ends up doing secret missions, because of course he does.

If you want a quick tour through some of the most iconic works in Romanian literature and cinema, plus a music rec for your playlist if ur feeling experimental I gotchu. As always, this is subjective as sh*t :)
