A mysterious stranger arrives by train with plans to rob a small-town bank — but one unexpected friendship changes everything in Man on the Train.

When the town hotel is closed, a retired professor invites the quiet drifter into his home. As the two men talk, they discover they are drawn to each other’s very different lives: one shaped by crime and danger, the other by routine, poetry, and regret.
