On April 3rd, 2025, retired four-star Gen. Tim D. Haugh was fired from his position as Director of the National Security Agency/Chief and Commander of the U.S. Cyber Command, along with his civilian deputy Wendy Noble. American far-right political activist and internet personality Laura Loomer called for Haugh’s firing online stating that Haugh had been “disloyal” to President Trump. Following a meeting between Loomer and President Trump, Haugh was fired. Loomer described his dismissal as a “blessing for the American people” (CBS).

Since the firings, Gen. Joshua M. Rudd now serves as Commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and Director of National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service. Gen. Rudd previously served as the Deputy Commander for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Chief of Staff and Commander of Special Operations Command Pacific, and served as a Special Forces Officer.

Tim Kosiba now serves as Deputy Director of the National Security Agency. Kosiba previously served as Deputy Commander of NSA/CSS Georgia, as well as a variety of leadership roles in NSA, U.S. Cyber Command and the FBI.
