ICE just admitted that the father of 3 they shot and killed on Tuesday – he was the wrong guy.
And now, the other men there that day are claiming that the officers are lying about what actually happened. Right, apparently, ICE was looking for two people from Guatemala, and they thought one of them was in the van Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was driving that day. So they initiated a traffic stop, but from there, we can’t be sure what actually happened because they weren’t wearing body cams.

Agents claim Saul-god-o Are-ow-hoe “weaponized” the van. Saying he tried to evade arrest, rammed his car into theirs, and tried to run at least one of them over. But the three men riding with him at the time say that it was actually the ICE agents who rammed them from the back after they had turned on a road with heavy construction, going no more than 5 miles per hour.
Then, they claim ICE vehicles pulled up on both sides of the van.

And that’s when they say the agents got out, with one of them firing almost immediately, hitting Saul-god-o Are-ow-hoe in the abdomen. From there, apparently, he was still able to put it in park. But at least one officer continued to let off additional rounds from the side of the van, according to the other men. So they’re now saying there’s no way officers actually thought he was going to run them over because they were on the side of the car the whole time.

But at that point, they say officers pulled him out of the driver's seat onto the ground, putting him in cuffs as he yelled for help. And with that, Saul-god-o Are-ow-hoe’s family is left grieving, and the three men who were with him, one of them being his brother, are in ICE detention facilities.
So now, the DHS inspector general’s office is investigating the shooting. While the FBI’s Houston office said it’ll be focusing on the potential assault on the officers.
