Conservative MP Jeremy Hunt has reacted to John Healey's resignation as defence secretary, saying the decision is "a very sad day for British politics."

Speaking on the BBC's Politics Live, the former chancellor said Healey has been "very brave" and it "will not have been easy for him to give up a job that he clearly loved."
