Donald Trump spent hours posting on Truth Social, and one post showed a map of New Mexico with the word Mexico crossed out and America written underneath. It's another move by Trump to show his hatred for Immigrants and Mexico.

While Trump hates Mexico, New Mexico wasn't actually named after the modern-day country of Mexico, instead it was named after the Valley of Mexico by Spanish explorers in the early 16th century. That's more than 250 years before the modern nation of Mexico adopted the name upon winning independence from Spain in 1821.

The state's name has nothing to do with the country Trump attacks constantly. He just doesn't know the history.
