Crack-Up is a 1946 American film noir mystery-thriller directed by Irving Reis and based on the short story Madman's Holiday by Fredric Brown. The film combines psychological suspense, art forgery, murder, and conspiracy in a classic noir setting.

Plot:
George Steele, an art expert specializing in the detection of forged paintings, suddenly experiences what appears to be a train wreck while traveling to visit his hospitalized mother. However, when he reports the accident, authorities discover that no train crash occurred and that his mother was never hospitalized. Steele begins to doubt his own sanity.
Determined to uncover the truth, Steele investigates the strange events surrounding the museum where he works. His search reveals a sophisticated art-forgery scheme involving stolen masterpieces, murder, and a conspiracy designed to discredit him. With the help of reporter Terry Cordell, he races to expose the criminals before becoming their next victim.
