Conceived in Liberty: Lincoln and the American Experiment, produced by the Lincoln Presidential Foundation, is a short documentary series exploring how the Declaration of Independence and the ideals of the American Founding shaped Abraham Lincoln's politics, his vision of equality, and his fight to preserve the Union. Produced for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Blending evocative imagery with insights from leading historians, this series examines Lincoln's conviction that the Declaration's assertion that "all men are created equal" was the nation's "central idea," and how Lincoln, in turn, helped define and preserve the American experiment. Produced as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of America's Declaration of Independence, the series serves as a timeless resource for exploring the ideas, debates, and events that shaped Abraham Lincoln and that continue to shape the United States.

This is the Lincoln Presidential Foundation's fourth documentary series. Our previous series have won 10 awards, including two Mid-America Emmy Awards.
