The day after Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced a soft referendum vote will be held in the fall, British Columbia Energy Minister Adrian Dix condemned the premier's actions. Speaking to Power & Politics, Dix called the vote 'disappointing' and warned that launching the country into this 'unnecessary uncertainty' will adversely affect all Canadians, not just Albertans.
