Before adult animation was a Netflix genre, it was underground, banned, X-rated, and made by people who simply refused to believe cartoons had to be for kids. Today we're counting down the 20 best forbidden and adult animated movies of the 1970s and 1980s — from Ralph Bakshi's X-rated satire to a Disney feature so dark it nearly ended the studio's animation department.
